So, as most of you probably knew, I just came back from a week's visit in Germany. :"D I should probably say "I'm home!" except it doesn't really feel as much of a home as when I left. ;A; I want to go back. I could've just taken my friends and dogs with me and stayed there.

Argh.

Anyway. I can't make as long journal entries in here as in Livejournal, and certainly not with as many photos, so those of you who know me over there might want to check my journal for a more photogenic account of the trip.

Thursday, July 29th.

Woke up before 6 a.m. to catch a 8:20 train to Tampere with . Unfortunately that was pretty much the only thing that went accordingly for the rest of the day. The train arrived in Tampere 20 minutes late, leaving us in a quite of a hurry to get something to eat before the bus to the airport. At the airport, the flight was half an hour late on both ends (not to mention having to sit next to godawful kids for the whole 2 hours), because of which we missed both the airport bus and our train to Bonn. Eventually we got to the Frankfurt main station around 10 p.m., two hours behind schedule. Luckily the staff at DB proved themselves very helpful and found us a later train with minimum costs, so that we finally arrived at Bonn and our hotel around midnight.

The moral of the story? Don't fly Ryanair. <.< It was my first and my last time.


Friday, July 30th.

Ate breakfast at a nice and cheap café two doors from our hotel and set out for AnimagiC! We went casual for the first day, so we mainly just lurked around and followed cosplayers to find our way to Beethovenhalle. XD

But! With a stroke of luck we immediately ran into friends (well, tamuki's friends) after arriving at the con. and They were super friendly and helpful and all sorts of awesome for showing us around the area. : D Still more familiar people ahead. Two steps from the Prumano team we ran into this group of Austrians who had contacted us earlier in LJ. We ended up running into each other quite repeatedly during the con and had an awesome time. >D Afterwards... I have no recollection. We mainly walked around and ogled at all the cool cosplayers and asked for a picture whenever we could catch the time and had the guts to ask. XD

Eventually we found more tamuki's friends, , , and with whom we hanged out some more. And evaded wasps, with relative success.


Saturday, July 31st.

Barely slept the previous night because of being too nervous and excited. XD Because it was our first day of cosplay! We were Finland and Sweden from Hetalia, and got many amused and enthusiastic reactions when we told people we are Finnish. :'D There was a Hetalia meet later in the day, and probably because of that there was an influx of kick-ass Hetalia cosplayers.


Sunday, August 1st.

Tamuki decided to cosplay Finland again after all (but only for the early part of the day), so we were Finland and Germany for the last day of AnimagiC. My costume wasn't really mine, it was on a loan from , and proved itself to be very popular. :'D Though I walked most of the day with the jacket off because it was insanely hot and humid during the day.

Also, later in the evening when we were by the river, a group of Japanese people asked to take my picture. It wasn't until later than I realised that one of them had been Masaya Onosaka, France's voice actor! :"D I nearly died. But it was awesome, and he was really friendly to all the Hetalia cosplayers who flocked around him.

Then it was time to go... So we walked to the train station with our friends, said goodbye, and left for Hannover. ;A; Which was awesome as well, but we were both still left missing all the cool people at the con.

Next year! We have to be there again. : D It was way too awesome to miss any more.

Oh yeah, and I'm finally making use of the journal skins feature. I wanted something Myst-themed, but such a skin doesn't exist so I picked at least something similarly styled.
